GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Purdue men's golf team is in third place at the Windon Memorial Classic in Glenview, Ill. The event is being hosted by Northwestern University.
The Boilermakers totaled a 577 on the event's first day and trail Minnesota by six strokes for first place. Illinois is in second after a 574.
Freshman Peter Richardson leads the tournament overall after rounds of 67 and 68. He leads the field by four strokes.
Senior Shiv Kapur is tied for 15th after a 144. He fired a 71 and 73 in the first two rounds. Junior Dustin Cone is tied for 18th after a 145. He shot a second-round 70.
Freshman Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 62nd, while freshman Bobby Bennett is tied for 70th.
The tournament is being held on the par-72, 7,031-yard North Shore Golf Course, the site of the 1993 U.S. Open.
The final round begins at 8:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday with a shotgun start.
