FAIRFAX, Calif. - The Purdue men's golf team is tied for seventh at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. The event is being hosted by California University. This is only the second year for the event.
The Boilermakers totaled a 238 in the event's first round and are tied with Illinois. Northwestern leads the event with a 272. An additional 18 holes will be played Monday evening. The final 18 will begin on Tuesday.
Freshman Peter Richardson is tied for second overall after a first-round 67.
Senior Luke Epp is tied for24th after a 71. Senior Shiv Kapur fired a 72 and is tied for 41st.
Junior Dustin Cone and freshman Pariya Junhasavasdikul are tied for 52nd after a pair of 73's.
The tournament is being held on the par-71, 6,585-yard Meadow Club Golf Course.
The final round begins at 10:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday with a shotgun start.
