Men's Golf Moves Up To Fourth At Big Ten Championships

The Purdue men's golf team moved up to fourth place after three rounds of the 2003 Big Ten Men's Golf Championships, which are being held at the at the par 71, 6,942-yard Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington.

The Boilermakers fired a third-round 289. Purdue was in fifth place after the first two rounds but moved up to fourth after Michigan State shot a 293. Illinois leads the tournament with a three-round total of 839.

Senior Peter Karmis led the tournament after the first day and is now tied for second overall. He fired a third-round 72 and has three-round total of 209.

Junior Shiv Kapur carded a team-low 70 on Saturday. He has a three-round total of 218.

Senior Chris Mayson and junior Luke Epp each are tied for 23rd overall. Mayson carded a 74 on Saturday, while Epp fired a 73.

Sophomore Dustin Cone totaled a 77 on Saturday and is tied for 53rd overall.
