Karmis In 48th Place At NCAA Central Regional

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Purdue golfer Peter Karmis is tied for 48th place at the NCAA Men's Golf Central Regional in Manhattan, Kan.

Karmis fired a three-over-par 75 on the Friday. He recorded two birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey. He fired an even par 72 on Thursday.

N.C. State's Jason Moon and Wichita State's Judd Easterling's leads the event overall with a two round total of 137.

Karmis is one of six individuals competing in the Central Regional. The top two individuals will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on May 28 to 31.

Karmis was named honorable mention All-Big Ten following his second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington last weekend.

Karmis has been the Boilermakers' top finisher in six of the last seven tournaments and holds the teams lowest stroke average at 73.1.
