COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Purdue men's golf team tied for seventh place at the Robert Kepler Invitational, which was held at the par 72, 7,251-yard Ohio State Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
The Boilermakers fired a final-round 302 and tied with Northwestern for seventh place overall. Purdue and the Wildcats totaled 909 over the two days. Ohio State won the event after a three-round 893.
The 16-team tournament featured Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Kent State, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Ohio State, Purdue, Toledo, and Wisconsin.
Purdue was led by senior Peter Karmis, who tied for eighth overall. He fired a final-round 70 and had a three-round total of 222.
Junior Shiv Kapur tied for 25th overall. He notched a final-round 82 and totaled 228 over the three days. Sophomore Dustin Cone carded a final-round 75 and tied for 27th overall.
Junior Luke Epp tied for 43rd overall. He had a final-round 77 and totaled a 232 over the weekend.
Junior Ryan Masuda shot a final-round 80 and totaled a 242 over the three rounds.
The Boilermakers are in action again on May 2 to 4 at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington.
