The Purdue women's golf team is in eighth place after the second round of the 2003 Bryan National Collegiate Tournament, at the Bryan Park Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C.
Each of the three days include 18 holes on the par-72, 6,064-yard course.
The Boilermakers carded a second-round 297, nine strokes lower than their first-round total. They trail Duke by 23 strokes for first place.
Purdue was led by senior Kari Damron, who fired a second-round 75. She is tied for 11th overall with a two-day total of 147.
Junior Beth Hermes is tied for 19th after two rounds after second-round 75. Senior Heather Suhr fired a team round-low 71. She is tied for 36th overall with a two-day total of 153.
Senior Heather Zielinski is tied for 43rd with a 154. She totaled a 76 on Saturday. Freshman Onnarin Sattayabanphot is tied for 77th with a 162. She recorded a 78 on Saturday.
The 18-team tournament features Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Furman, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Tulsa, UNC Greensboro, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
In addition, 10 of the field's teams are in the top 25 of the Golfweek/Sagarin collegiate golf rankings.
Last year, Duke won the tournament, while the Blue Devils' Virada Nirapathpongporn defeated Angel Jerman of Georgia in a playoff for individual honors.
Purdue finished ninth in last year's tournament.
Final-round action is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. EST on Sunday.
