Men's Golf Moves Up To Third

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Purdue men's golf is in third place after two rounds at the Furman Intercollegiate being held at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

The Boilermakers fired a second-round 285 and trail Virginia Tech by five strokes for first place. Purdue carded the lowest score of the second round and was one of three teams to break 590 on the day.

The event includes three, 18-hole rounds on the par-72, 6,800-yard course. This is the 34th year Furman has hosted the event. Virginia Tech won the tournament last year. Purdue was led by senior Peter Karmis. He fired a season-low 66 and is tied for sixth overall with a two-day total of 144. Junior Shiv Kapur fired a second-round 72 and is two over par. He is tied for 13th overall. Senior Chris Mayson shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 22nd place. Junior Ryan Barauskas is tied for 28th place after a second-round 72. Sophomore Dustin Cone is tied for 40th with a two-day total of 151. Final-round action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. EST on Sunday.
