Men's Golf Tied For Seventh

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Purdue men's golf is tied for seventh at the Furman Intercollegiate from March 21 to 23, at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

The Boilermakers fired a first-round 299 and trail Virginia Tech by nine strokes for first place.

The event includes three, 18-hole rounds on the par-72, 6,800-yard course. This is the 34th year Furman has hosted the event. Virginia Tech won the tournament last year. Purdue was led by sophomore Dustin Cone, who fired a one-over par 73. He is tied for 10th overall. Junior Shiv Kapur is tied for 19th after an opening-round 74. Senior Peter Karmis is tied for 25th after a 77. Senior Chris Mayson is tied for 51st after a 77. Junior Ryan Barauskas is tied for 64th with a six-over 78.

Second-round action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. EST on Friday.
