MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The No. 21 Purdue women's swimming and diving team completed Day One of the annual Quad Meet Duals on Friday night. After the first day's competition, the Boilermakers lead the Illinois Fighting Illini, 126-59, but are behind the Wisconsin Badgers, 105-80, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 94-92.
In the first race of the day, the 200 medley relay team finished first with a time of 1:45.23 and on the 3-meter diving board, freshman Carrie McCambridge finished second with a score of 434.60.
Freshman Erica Chandler and senior Shannon Funk came in third and fifth in the 1000 freestyle, while senior Lisa Dolansky and sophomore Brandy Keever finished second and fifth in the 100 backstroke.
Senior Lindsay Lange finished third in the 100 breaststroke and junior Autumn Sample and senior Patricia Finnerty were 2-3 in the 200 butterfly.
Sophomore Tracy Duchac came in third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.96, while sophomore Christine Leupold finished fifth in 24.17.
Purdue's Jenni Bean came in fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.72 and the 800 freestyle relay team finished third to wrap up the day.
The Old Gold and Black returns to the water at noon, CST, today at the Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. Then, the Boilermakers will return home to train for the final stretch before the Big Ten Championships.
