Men's Golf In 14th Place At NCAA Fall Preview

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Purdue men's golf team is in 14th place after two rounds of the NCAA Fall Preview. The event is being held at the par 72, 7,290-yard Karsten Creek golf course in Stillwater, Okla.

The Boilermakers totaled 618 on the first day of competition, which included 36 holes. Augusta State leads the event with a 591.

Senior Peter Karmis led the Boilermakers with a pair of 76s. Karmis finished the first two rounds eight over par and tied for 34th place.

Sophomore Dustin Cone is tied for 41st after a first-day total of 154. Senior Chris Mayson fired an 82 in the morning round and bounced back with a team-low 73 in the second round. He is tied for 47th after two rounds.

Junior Ryan Barauskas is tied for 62nd after a first-day 159. Sophomore Roberto Krutzfeldt carded a 162 after posting an 80 and 82 in the first and second round.

"We're still not close to where we want to be," said head coach Devon Brouse. "We've got to come back on Tuesday and finish the tournament strong and be able to take something positive back with us."

The Boilermakers tee off in the final round at 8 a.m. EST. Live scoring is being provided at www.igolftheworld.com.

The Boilermakers compete four times in the fall and are in action again on Nov. 1 to 3, at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
