COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Purdue men's golf team is in 15th place after the third round of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
The Boilermakers, who begin third-round play around 8:03 a.m. EST. Purdue fired a third-round 293 and have a three-day total of 864. Georgia Tech is in the lead after three rounds at one-over par.
"We're a little disappointed in our round today," said coach Devon Brouse. "Today was the time to make a move and we didn't take that opportunity to do so."
Big Ten Player of the Year and All-America candidate Lee Williamson fired a third-round 74. He is tied for 37th place with a three-day total of 215.
Sophomore Shiv Kapur carded the lowest round on Friday for the Boilermakers. His even-par 71 kept him at two-over par through three rounds and tied for 37th.
Freshman Dustin Cone is tied for 88th after a third-round 72. He has a three-day total of 220.
Junior Chris Mayson, who placed second at the NCAA Central Regional, fired a third-round 76 and is tied for 88th with a three-day total of 220.
Junior Peter Karmis carded a third-round 80 and is tied for 133rd with a three-round total of 225.
"The good news after today is that we are still in a position to finish fairly high," said Brouse. "If things go well and we can shoot a low score tomorrow, there's a chance we can move into a very high position."
This is the second-straight season that the Boilermakers have advanced to the NCAA Championships. The Boilermakers finished 28th at the 2001 NCAA Championships.

The event is being held at the 7,236-yard, par-71 Scarlet Course. The event will conclude on Saturday.
