WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team was edged 4-3 by No. 37 Wisconsin on Sunday, April 7 in Madison.
Purdue won the doubles point but were unable to win three singles spots.
Junior Missy Wright and sophomore Gretchen Haynor defeated Linde Mues and Lara Vojnov 9-8 at the No. 1 doubles spot. Senior Lynsey Fick and sophomore Melissa Woods upended Teresa Gonzaga and Katie Dougherty 9-8 at the No. 2 position.
In singles, Haynor defeated Mues 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot and freshman Shawna Zuccarini defeated Dougherty 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot.
The Boilermakers ended the weekend with a 6-9 overall record a 3-3 Big Ten mark. They will host Illinois State on Wednesday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m.
