Women's Golf In Eighth Place In Bryan Collegiate Invitational

BROWN SUMMIT, N.C. - The Purdue women's golf team is in eighth place after the first two rounds of the Bryan National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C.

The Boilermakers fired a second-round 305. Purdue shot a first-round 299 and its two-day total of 604, is a mere eight strokes out of fifth place. Duke leads the event with a two-day total of 580.

Senior Andrea Makauskas fired a second-round 74 and is tied for 21st with a two-day total of 150. Junior Heather Zielinski and sophomore Beth Hermes are tied for 33rd with two-day totals of 152. Seniors Caroline Laurens and Christy Rittenhouse are tied for 55th and 67th place overall. Laurens carded a second-round 78 and Rittenhouse recorded a second-round 86.

The event is being held at the 5,997-yard, par-72 Bryan Park Champions Golf Course. The final round begins on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. EST.
