WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 9 Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., today.
Head coach Mat Iandolo was glad that the team was able to use these competitions as a springboard for the rest of the season.
"Coming off this weekend, we got a lot of experience training outdoors in windy conditions," Iandolo said. "We hope to use these past matches as preparation for Notre Dame and Indiana in the up coming weeks."
Junior Melissa Iqbal and freshman Lara Burgarello defeated Joslynn Burkett and Cindy Sureephong 9-7 at the No. 3 spot in doubles. Purdue was unable to win another doubles match to win the point.
The Boilermakers will return home to compete against No. 18 Notre Dame on Thursday, March 21 at 1 p.m. The dual match will be held at the Varsity Courts.
