BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Purdue defense changed in the second half and LSU's offense didn't know what to do about it.
"Well, you know they came out and made adjustments," said Doneeka Hodges, who scored 18 points in the first half for LSU and two in the second. "They did a good job and we just did not respond at all."
The 10th-ranked Boilermakers led by just four points at the half, then pulled away in the second to beat No. 18 LSU 70-54 Sunday. Shereka Wright led Purdue with 26 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
The tough Purdue defense caused LSU's shooting percentage to drop from 47 percent in the first half to 23 percent after the break. Purdue remained consistent throughout, shooting 53 percent in the first and 48 percent in the second half.
Kelly Komara scored 15 points for Purdue, and Laura Meadows had six assists.
Doneeka Hodges led LSU with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Aiysha Smith scored 14, and Kisha James had six assists.
