HILTON HEAD, S.C - The Purdue men's golf team finished 12th in the Long Cove Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C., over the weekend.
The Boilermakers fired a final-round 296 on Sunday after shooting a 305 in the second round. The tournament featured 12 of the top-20 team ranked in the GolfWorld collegiate rankings.
Senior Lee Williamson led Purdue on the weekend. He fired a final-round 69 and finished tied for fifth place individually. Juniors Chris Mayson and Peter Karmis finished tied for 39th and 49 respectively. Mayson shot a final-round 75, while Karmis carded a 76. Sophomore Shiv Kapur finished tied for 53rd after a weekend total of 229. Senior Jason Bukowski carded a final-round 77 and finished tied for 66th.
The Long Cove Invitational was the final event of the fall season for the Boilermakers. The spring schedule resumes on Feb. 4, at the Arizona Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
