GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Purdue women's golf team finished tied for seventh place after the first round in the Lady Paladin Invitational on Friday in Greenville, S.C.
The Boilermakers fired a 309 and trail Auburn and Wake Forest by 10 strokes for the tournament lead. The tournament features 21 teams.
Senior Caroline Laurens and junior Heather Zielinski each carded a four-over 76 and finished the first day tied for 15th. Senior Andrea Makauskas shot a 77 to end the first round tied for 25th. Junior Kari Damron and sophomore Beth Hermes fired a pair of 80s to finish tied for 57th.
Second-round play begins at 8 a.m. EST on Saturday morning.
