WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue volleyball team fell 33-31, 30-23, 30-22 to Indiana on Saturday. With the loss, the Boilermakers fall to 2-15 (1-9 Big Ten), while the Hoosiers improve to 5-13 (2-8 Big Ten).
"This became a match that hung in the balance of who wanted it more and who took risks," head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer said. "That's something we have to overcome. Anything of significance takes risk, and we have to be able to take some risks out there."
After overcoming a 2-6 deficit in Game 1, the Boilermakers charged back to take control, and hold Indiana at gamepoint, 29-26. But it was not to be as the match went the distance and the Hoosiers went the distance to win 33-31. It was downhill after that for Purdue as they fell 23-30 in Game 2 and 22-30 in Game 3.
The Old Gold and Black will head to Valpariaso in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
