WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue volleyball team fell 24-30, 26-30, 22-30 to Michigan on Friday night in the IAF. The Boilermakers fall to 1-10 (1-4 Big Ten), while the Wolverines improve to 7-5, (4-2 Big Ten).
"We came on strong, but they too were strong and played with a lot of heart," head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer said. "We came out and pressed well, but we need to execute in these stressful situations. Now is the time to regroup and refocus for tomorrow night's game."
Senior Maegan Petersen had an impressive evening with a team-high 12 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Sophomore Tiffany Yoskey and rookie Lyndsey Phillips both had six blocks. Sophomore Jen Bova led Purdue with 10 digs.
The Boilermakers will attempt to turn things around on Saturday evening when they host Michigan State.
"We need to take care of first and second contacting and keep consistent at the net," Hulsmeyer said. "By changing those things, hopefully we will win."
