Women's Tennis Team Loses 4-1 To Northwestern

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The ninth-seeded women's tennis team was defeated 4-1 by No. 1 Northwestern Friday at the Big Ten Tennis Championships.

The Wildcats won the doubles points by winning the matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Northwestern continued to dominate in singles action with wins at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 spots. Rookie Gretchen Haynor managed the Boilermakers lone point with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Shannon Duffy at No. 3.

Purdue completed the season with a 7-17 record (3-7 Big Ten). Northwestern will face Ohio State in the championship semifinals.
