WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team fell 7-0 Wednesday to No. 10 ranked California. The Boilermakers fell to 3-9 (0-2 Big Ten) on the season, while Cal improved to 8-2 (4-2 Pac-10).
After capturing the doubles point by winning all three matches, Cal went on to defeat each Purdue opponent in straight sets, except at the No. 5 spot, where Gretchen Haynor pushed Catherine Lynch to a three set tiebreaker. Lynch went on to win 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.
The Boilermakers will face San Diego State on Friday.
