Men's Cross Country Team Finishes Eighth At Regionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's cross country team finished eighth (245) in a field of 31 Saturday at the Great Lakes Regionals in Ypsilanti, Mich. Big Ten rival Wisconsin won first with a score of 75.

"This was a fantastic meet for us," Boilermaker head coach Mike Poehlien said. "It was our best race of the year. Last year we finished 18th at this meet so I am really proud we moved so far ahead."

Purdue senior Donnie Fellows finished 15th and freshman Tobias Buechner placed 26th of the 205 runners competing.

"We got excellent performances from all our guys and I couldn't be prouder," Poehlien said. "This was a tremendous day for us."
