WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's cross country team finished ninth at the Big Ten championships held in Madison, Wis., on Sunday. The Badgers claimed first place with a score of 45.

Senior Donnie Fellows earned second team All-Big Ten honors after he placed 10th among 83 competitors with a time of 24:37. Brian Metzger was 45th with a time of 25:33 and Tobias Buechner was 47th with a time of 25:35.

"We had solid races from Donnie, Brian and Tobias, but it just wasn't enough to pull off a higher finish," Boilermaker head coach Mike Poehlein said. "Two of our kids weren't hurt really badly and could not compete, so it was a tough day for us."
