The first goal for Iowa came at 4:59 when Sarah Lynch found Kate Walse in the center of the box to net her 10th goal of the season past Purdue junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Boldt.

The Hawkeyes quickly scored again when Lynch broke through the Boilermakers' defense to drop another Iowa goal and scored her eighth goal of the season, unassisted.

At the 35:36 mark, Iowa's Jenny Sturm dropped a shot past diving Purdue junior goalkeeper Sharon Sadowski to tally her first goal of the season.

Finally, Purdue was able to get on the board with its only goal of the game when junior defender Katie Redmond found freshman forward Annette Kent open on a breakaway. Kent scored her fifth goal of the season on a driving shot from 12 yards out.

But the Boilermakers weren't able to turn the game around as the Hawkeyes continued their scoring run. At the 58:49 mark Sturm tallied her second goal of the game off of a pass from Jamie Jorgensen.

Less than a minute later, Sturm was able to record her third goal of the day, giving her a hat trick, when she was able to put a rebound shot past Purdue's Sadowski.

Iowa continued its biggest win of the season with two final goals at the 61:59 and 70:57 marks. Hawkeyes Linzy Wolman and Beth Oldenburg scored the goals. Sarah Kiefer was credited with an assist for Iowa's seventh goal of the game.

Purdue will look to secure its spot in the Big Ten Tournament when it plays its final Big Ten game of the year and takes on Indiana at home on Friday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.
