WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team fell 5-2 to intrastate rival to the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. The Boilers fall to 5-5 (1-2 Big Ten) on the season, while Indiana improves to 8-2 (3-0 Big Ten).
Despite Jennifer Embry and Shannon Taheny's 8-0 defeat of Jessica Anderson and Kelly Blanch at the No. 1 doubles position, the Hoosiers were able to claim the doubles point by winning at the No. 2 and 3 positions.
In singles action, the Boilers were able to claim victories at No. 1 and 3 spots. Embry defeated Anderson 7-6, 6-0 at the top of the lineup. Erika Quebe hung on to knock off Zahra Ahamed 6-7, 7-6, 3-0.
