WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Katie Douglas scored 24 points and Camille Cooper added 21 as No. 21 Purdue beat Iowa 73-59 on Sunday.

Purdue (19-7, 11-5), the defending NCAA and Big Ten champs, enter next weekend's Big Ten tournament as the No. 3 seed.

The Boilermakers broke the contest open during the first seven minutes of the second half, outscoring the Hawkeyes 14-4 to take a 45-33 lead on Douglas' jumper with 13:03 remaining.

Iowa could get no closer than 58-50 in the final 13 minutes when the Hawkeyes' Cara Consuegra hit a short jumper with 4:45 to go.

Purdue put the contest away at the free throw line, hitting 18-of-22 from the line in the second half. Douglas tied a school record by hitting 12-of-12 from the line. Ukari Figgs set the free throw percentage mark (15-of-15) on March 14, 1998, against Washington.

Consuegra scored 20 points to lead Iowa (9-16, 6-10).

Purdue built a 22-12 lead with 7:32 remaining in the first half, but Iowa battled back to tie the score at 29 on Lindsey Meder's two free throws with five seconds remaining in the opening half.
