WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team fell 9-0 at the hands of No. 12 Pepperdine in Malibu, California, today. The loss drops the 47th-ranked Boilermakers to 4-5 (0-2 Big Ten), while the Waves improve to 10-3.
The Boilermakers fell in straight sets in five of six singles matches. Junior co-captain Jennifer Embry was stretched to three sets against Angela Lawrence. But Lawrence, whom Embry defeated last October, was able to secure the match by winning the final two sets.
Purdue plays at No. 21 Fresno State tomorrow, March 16.
