THE GOLD STANDARD

Here at Purdue Athletics, our department aims to create a standard of excellence in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) space. That overarching goal is to be a resource for Boilermaker student-athletes in their pursuit of NIL and entrepreneurial opportunities as they build their brands and connect with Purdue fans and alumni everywhere. NIL has opened the door for student-athletes to benefit in ways unlike ever before and at the very center of Purdue Athletics is the belief that every Boilermaker should be provided the support they need in their pursuit of greatness in the classroom, on the field, and in Name, Image, Likeness.

The Boilermaker Marketplace Exchange is a student-athlete name, image and likeness (NIL) business registry, custom-designed for businesses, donors, alumni, and any other individual interested in connecting with Purdue student-athletes for NIL opportunities. Registered businesses can search, filter and initiate conversations with Purdue University student-athletes to discuss NIL opportunities. Once the NIL deal between a registered business and a student-athlete is completed, the business will use the Boilermaker Marketplace Exchange to create a transaction that will produce a direct payment to the student-athlete (without any transaction fee) and automate a disclosure to the Purdue University INFLCR Verified Compliance Ledger. The institution itself does not become involved in the deal and all transactions within the local exchange are consolidated into one 1099 form at the end of the year for easier tax reporting purposes for registered businesses and student-athletes.
