AUCTION
On Saturday, Feb. 9, Purdue men’s basketball will host its annual Hammer Down Cancer game when the Boilermakers take on Nebraska at 8:30 p.m. at Mackey Arena. The team will be wearing custom black Hammer Down Cancer jerseys, which will feature grey and neon yellow accents. Neon yellow is the color that the Purdue Center for Cancer Research uses to represent cancers survivors and fighters of all types of cancer.
Each player’s jersey, along with a special custom shooting shirt, will be auctioned off online through the Purdue Athletics website before the game. All proceeds will go to the Tyler Trent Endowment Fund at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
The auctions will be open to all fans. The custom shooting shirt auction will end Thursday, Jan. 24, at noon ET, and the jersey auction will end Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 8 p.m. ET.
JERSEY
These special-edition jerseys are official Nike basketball jerseys, adorned with grey stripes down the sides that align with the shorts. On the front of the jersey, the traditional Purdue jersey wordmark is upgraded with neon yellow to represent all cancer survivors. The back of the jersey features the signature Hammer Down Cancer logo, shared across multiple Purdue Athletics events. Both the front and the back of the jersey features the player’s number, also upgraded with neon yellow.

SHOOTING SHIRT
The team will be wearing unique shooting shirts for this game that fans also can bid on in the auction. The black Nike shooting shirt will be adorned with our Hammer Down Cancer logo on the front, but the magic comes when we look at the back of the jersey.
The winning bidder will have the chance to provide a custom message of encouragement to be printed on the back of the shooting shirt for the cancer survivor or fighter in their life. Examples include “In memory of _____," “Keep fighting _____," “#TylerStrong,” etc.
TYLER TRENT ENDOWNMENT FUND
The Tyler Trent Cancer Research Endowment will fund cancer research at the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research. The Walther Cancer Foundation will match every gift donated to the endowment, dollar for dollar.
The research being done through your support will focus on investigating cancers where they begin - at the cellular level - to examine the cause of, and cure for, cancer. Doctors and scientists throughout the world use our discoveries to develop methods, medicines, and medical devices to save and enhance patient lives.
"Without donations, research cannot get done, and the research being done
will IMPACT generations to come.” - Tyler Trent
