Cheerleaders Fall Short Of Making Finals, Finish 11th Top 10 teams advance from preliminaries

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's cheerleading squad failed to advance to the finals at the National Cheerleading Association National Championships Thursday in Daytona, Fla.

The Boilermakers finished 11th in preliminaries, with the top 10 performances advancing to the finals on Friday.

Last year's squad finished sixth at the nationals, hosted annually in Daytona. In spring of 2002, Purdue placed second in the finals of the national championship, and its performance was aired on CBS.
