WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's Kampen Course of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex was voted as the state's fourth-best public access course by Golfweek magazine in the March 5 issue.
"I think it's a great honor to be recognized as one of the top places to play in the state of Indiana," said Doug Hill, head professional of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. "The best part about it is that we are able to give that access to the public. You take a look at the other courses on that list and that is some elite company."
The list included the top-five public courses in each state. Indiana's list was topped by Fort Golf Course in Indianapolis. Warren Golf Course in South Bend was ranked second, followed by Prairie View in Carmel. Lebanon's Trophy Club, which is home to the Shootout at the Legends Tournament, was ranked fifth.
The Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex will host the 2003 NCAA Women's Golf Championships on May 20-23.
