WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As the winter term of the 1999-2000 school year comes to a close, the Big Ten recognized a total of 354 winter sports student-athletes who have been named to Academic All-Conference Team. The list honored 24 Purdue athletes from the men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
Two Boilermakers received special recognition for their academic success. Sophomore Marla Reyzer of the swimming and diving team maintained a 3.93 GPA. In addition to being named Big Ten Player of the Year, Junior Katie Douglas of the women's basketball team was honored for excellence "off the field" by maintaining a 3.47 GPA in communications.
