WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men’s golf has been selected for the NCAA Regional Championships for the fifth straight season, being sent to Corvallis, Oregon, for the Corvallis Regional, the Golf Channel announced this afternoon.

The NCAA Regionals will be held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, beginning on Monday, May 18, and concluding Wednesday, May 20.

The Boilermakers are one of five Big Ten teams selected for Regionals, are making their 11th appearance in the last 12 tournaments, missing only the 2021 event.

Purdue will be joined by top-seeded Arkansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Charlotte, UCLA, Notre Dame, San Diego, Georgia Southern, the host school Oregon State, Liberty, Xavier and Sacramento State in the field. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA National Championships on May 29 to June 3, at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.

Purdue will be aiming for its 32nd appearance in the National Championships and third straight showing at college golf’s ultimate stage. The last time Purdue made three straight NCAA Championship appearances came in 1965 to 1967.

Purdue’s five appearances in the NCAA National Championships since 2014 are the third most among Big Ten teams (Illinois - 10; Oregon - 7; USC - 5).

The Boilermakers are ranked 43rd in the latest Clippd national golf rankings and have had another strong season. Purdue has finished in the top five in six of its 11 events this season, including top-six showings in four straight events entering Regionals.

Purdue owns a 284.38, 18-hole stroke average, currently the lowest stroke average in school history by almost two shots. The Boilermakers’ six regulars in the rotation all average between 70.84 to 72.64 stroke average.

Leading the charge is junior Sam Easterbrook, who was just named second-team All-Big Ten this morning. He leads the Boilermakers with a 70.84 stroke average and has six top-10 finishes in 11 events this season, including four times in five spring events. Senior Kentaro Nanayama owns a 72.06 stroke average with seven rounds in the 60s and four top-20 showings. Freshman Will Harvey’s average of 72.24 is the lowest average by a freshman in school history and he has three top-20 placings in his last four events.

Head coach Andrew Sapp becomes the third Purdue coach to lead a team to NCAA competition in his first two seasons in charge, joining Sam Voinoff (1951, 1952) and Rob Bradley (2014, 2015) as coaches to accomplish that.
