WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Track & Field is set to wrap up its regular season portion of the outdoor schedule May 1-2 at the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky.
Men’s Notes
• Samuel Vessat remains sixth in the NCAA with a 44.94 in the 400m that leads all European runners in 2026 and is tied for 27th in the world. The performance set a school record and was the third-fastest time ever by a French runner.
• Seamus Malaski holds the No. 16 spot nationally in the hammer throw (67.73m / 222-02) and is currently in the discus, hammer throw and shot put.
• Hugh Jacobsmeyer is coming off a school record performance in the 800m (1:47.29) that places him top 50 in the country. It was Purdue’s fastest time since 2014 and broke a record that stood since 1983.
• Nathan Walker has put up a pair of top five performances in program history in his two meets this season with a 13:58.07 in the 5000m and 29:14.15 in the 10,000m. His 10,000m currently qualifies for regionals.
• Purdue’s 4x400m team of Victory Achakpoekri, Vessat, Zach Mylenek and Zyan Greene ranks fifth in the country and still leads the Big Ten by 1.08 seconds.
Women’s Notes
• Amarianna Lofton cleared 1.83m (6-00.00) in the high jump to put herself in a tie for 13th nationally. The jump entered Purdue’s rankings tied for third and she was the first Boilermaker to clear at least 1.83m since Corissa Yasen in 1996.
• Alexia Smith ranks 27th nationally and third in the Big Ten in the 400m (51.89). She moved up to third in Purdue history with her performance.
• The 4x400m team of Smith, Taiye Ayenuro, Marissa Palmer and Gia Clay ran 3:29.47 last meet to rank 14th nationally and is second in the Big Ten by just .24 seconds. The Boilers are one of three Big Ten teams to go sub-3:31 this season.
• Purdue’s 4x100m team of Nia Wilson, Palmer, Ashley Odiase and Jayla Cooper remain top 25 in the country with their 43.99 earlier this season. Odiase, Palmer and Wilson all rank top 10 in school history in the open 100m.
• Britannie Johnson holds two spots in the top 50 nationally with her 34th-ranked shot put (16.34m / 53-07.50) and 45th-ranked discus (53.48m / 175-05).
