BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Purdue Wrestling came up just short in its road finale, dropping a 20-16 dual to rival Indiana on Friday night.
The Boilermakers and Hoosiers won five matches apiece, but two bonus wins including a pin for the home team made the difference in the end.
Indiana opened with a 5-0 lead at 125 lbs, with No. 17 Jacob Moran picking up a 21-5 technical fall to put Purdue in an early hole. But the Boilers fought back in the middle of the lineup, picking up clutch decisions at 133, 157 and 165 as well as a major decision at 141.
Blake Boarman (133) scored two takedowns in short time to win a 6-2 decision over Blaine Frazier, finishing the regular season with his eighth dual win as a Boilermaker.

No. 31 Greyson Clark (141) maintained his hot streak with an outstanding 8-0 major decision upset over No. 25 Henry Porter. The Boilermaker added to his team-best 36 back points on the year, notching a takedown and two-point near-fall early in the match.
Clark, a two-time NCAA Championships qualifier, has won five straight by a combined 54-8 heading into the postseason.

No. 3 Joey Blaze (165) embraced his role as a road villain and improved to 18-0 with a 4-3 decision over No. 17 Tyler Lillard. He added his team-leading seventh ranked victory to post just the fourth undefeated regular season by a Boilermaker in the past 50 years.
