ATLANTA, Ga. - The Boilers split day one in Atlanta, defeating the College of Charleston 5-2, before falling to host team, Georgia Tech, 2-0.
The Boilers move to 7-4 on the season with three games left to play at the I-75 Tournament.

Purdue struck first in the opening inning after Khloe Banks reached on an error and advanced to second. Moriah Polar followed with an RBI double to left-center, then came around to score on a Charleston throwing error to give the Boilermakers a 2–0 lead.
Charleston answered with a solo home run in the third and an RBI single in the fourth to even the game at 2–2, but Purdue responded immediately. In the fifth, Polar worked a walk and advanced on a passed ball before Haley Painter delivered a go-ahead RBI single up the middle.
The Boilermakers added two insurance runs in the sixth. Kendyl Rainey reached on an error and scored on Anna Moore’s RBI triple to center, then Moore crossed the plate on another defensive miscue to extend the lead to 5–2.
Purdue’s bullpen closed the door from there. Brianna Fontenot was dominant in relief, retiring nine of the final 10 batters she faced, including four strikeouts, to secure the win.

Georgia Tech struck first in the bottom of the first inning, manufacturing a run with a single, stolen base, and sacrifice fly to take a 1–0 lead.
Purdue threatened in the top half of the inning when Polar doubled to left field, advancing to third on a dropped third strike, but the Boilermakers were unable to capitalize.
The game remained scoreless until the sixth, as Gossett settled in and worked out of traffic, including a second-inning jam with runners on first and second and no outs.
Georgia Tech added an insurance run in the sixth on an RBI single, and despite a seventh-inning baserunner following an error, Purdue was unable to break through offensively.
