Boilers Win Three as Sullivan Enters Top-10 List

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Purdue track & field team won three events and earned another top-10 mark in school history on the second and final day of the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Purdue track & field team won three events and earned another top-10 mark in school history on the second and final day of the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday.
 
Junior Zoe Sullivan entered the record books in the 100-meter hurdles on a cool and sun-filled day at Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Complex. She posted one of the Boilermakers' eight top-three finishes on Saturday as Purdue competed in its second-to-last meet of the outdoor regular season.
 
Sullivan was third in the 100m hurdle final in 13.42. It's the sixth-fastest time in program history and the best since 2018. Sullivan was one of three runners to break 14.00 in the final, and her time comes after she ran the prelims in 13.64 to advance with the third-fastest time.
 
Junior Praise Aniamaka won the triple jump in his outdoor season debut. Coming off Second Team All-America honors indoors, Aniamaka jumped 15.62 meters on his fifth attempt.
 
Sophomore Bryanna Craig was victorious in the heptathlon with 5,203 points for her first collegiate heptathlon win. Her weekend was highlighted by two individual event wins on Friday and a pair of second-place finishes on Saturday. She began the second day with a long jump mark of 5.34m and finished the meet with an 800m time of 2:18.24, both runner-up finishes. Craig won the seven-event competition by more than 200 points.
 
Sophomore Seth Allen earned his second win of the season in the discus. A throw of 56.78m came on his second attempt, which stood as the best mark throughout the competition. Allen was one of two competitors to throw more than 56.00m, which he did twice.
 
Runner-up finishes were posted by junior Rieko Wilford in the triple jump (12.75m-w), freshman Kaden Stewart in the high jump (2.10m) and the men's 4x100 relay. Stewart's runner-up finish came with a collegiate best clearance. Sophomore Collin Kao was third in the pole vault (4.97m), the women's 4x100 relay was fourth and freshman Nia Wilson was fifth in the 100m (11.80).
 
Additionally, senior Gabriele Green (800m, 2:22.35) and sophomore John Hanson (shot put, 17.42m) registered PRs on Saturday.
 
On Friday to begin the weekend, sophomore Leo Maxwell improved on his record book mark in the hammer throw. His third-place finish was one of five top-five placements for the Old Gold and Black on the opening day in Lexington.
 
This weekend's two-day meet was the penultimate competition of the outdoor regular season. Purdue was part of a 30-team field, which included host-Kentucky and Big Ten foes Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State.
 
The outdoor regular season concludes next weekend with a pair of meets. The Boilermakers will head west for both meets, to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, from April 24-27, and the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Arizona, on April 27.
