COLUMBUS, Ohio – A trio of Boilermakers cracked the Top 20 of the individual leaderboard through the first two rounds of the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational. Momo Sugiyama (+3), Ashley Kozlowski (+4) and Natasha Kiel (+5) helped Purdue Women's Golf shoot a pair of 9-over 297s to sit tied for fifth with 18 holes to play on Ohio State Golf Club's Scarlet Course.

The Boilermakers made 138 pars on Saturday, ranking second in the field. Purdue was also second in par-4 scoring on the day at 22-over par. Sugiyama led the 75-player field in par-4 scoring, playing the holes 2-under through the first two rounds. She made three birdies to counter a trio of bogeys to fire an opening-round 72 (E), Purdue's best round of the day. The junior recorded three more birdies during the afternoon, settling for a 75 (+3) to put her in a tie for ninth.

A pair of 74s from Kozlowski placed her inside the Top 15. She began her day with nine straight pars on the front side before a bogey at No. 10. Kozlowski immediately got the stroke back with a birdie at the 11th. Following three bogeys, she ended the first round with a birdie on No. 18. She birdied the 11th and 18th again during the second round on her way to another 74, landing in 14th with one round to play.

Kiel is tied for 18th through 36 holes, just one shot back of Kozlowski at 5-over. She began the day 1-under after six holes and found herself tied atop the leaderboard briefly. After carding a 75 (+3) in the morning, Kiel improved with a 74 (+2) to match Purdue's best round during the afternoon wave.

Making her debut in the Purdue lineup, freshman Jasmine Kahler bounced back from an opening-round 78 (+4) to shoot 74 (+2) in the second round. During the afternoon 18, she played her first 11 holes 2-under without committing a bogey. A triple bogey on the back nine prevented Kahler from firing an under-par round.

The tournament wraps up Sunday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET. For updates throughout tomorrow's final round, follow Purdue Women's Golf on Twitter @PurdueWGolf.
