Seventy-two Boilermakers will be making the trip for the team's second meet of the season. Purdue will have competitors in 23 of the 26 events on Saturday.

This weekend is the first of two trips to Chicago for the Old Gold and Black during the 2023-24 indoor campaign. The team will be back at Gately Park in just under one month for the Windy City Invitational from February 9-10.

LAST TIME OUT: WINS AND RECORD-BOOK TIMES HIGHLIGHT OPENER
Fourteen wins and eight top-10 times in school history fueled a strong start to the 2023-24 indoor season for the Boilermakers at the Edmonds-Wilt Invitational on December 9. At its annual home meet in Lambert Fieldhouse, Purdue benefited from numerous contributions from newcomers, as eight of the 14 victories came from athletes making their collegiate or Boilermaker debuts. Seven of eight record-book times were by runners wearing the Old Gold and Black uniform for the first time.

Freshmen Jasiah Rogers and Nia Wilson combined for four of Purdue's top-10 times in school history, as they each wrote their names in the record book in the prelims of the 60-meter and then notched faster times in the finals. Junior Brett Otterbacher moved up in the 500m, and freshmen Nickens Lemba and Alexia Smith also each entered the top-10 list in that event. Junior Zoe Sullivan posted the first record-book time of the day in the 60m hurdles in her inaugural race as a Boilermaker.

Otterbacher, Rogers, Smith and Sullivan all earned their top-10 times while also winning their events.

2023 IN THE SECOND CITY
The Boilermakers made a pair of trips to Chicago during the 2022-23 season for meets at Gately Park.

Four top-10 times in school history and four event wins for the Boilermakers highlighted the first meet on January 14. Leading the way was Otterbacher, who ran the second-fastest 600-meter time in school history to win the event. Praise Aniamaka also added a win in the triple jump while Nathan Walker registered a top-10 time in the mile. A full recap is available here.

A month later, from February 10-11, Purdue set four top-10 marks in program history at the Windy City Invitational. Aniamaka won the triple jump with his mark that is No. 4 in school history, while Emma Squires ran the mile in a time that is No. 9 in team history. Thirteen personal-best marks were achieved by Boilermakers on the weekend. Recap day one and day two from Chicago.
