LAST YEAR'S TRIP TO IU AND THE COMMONWEALTH
A year ago this weekend, from January 28-29, 2022, the Boilermakers also compete at the IU Relays and in Kentucky, though it was the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, instead of Louisville. Purdue notched six top-10 marks in the record books and earned one win with two runner-up finishes.
The weekend was highlighted by a top-10 school mark and Canadian Under-20 record in the triple jump by then-freshman Praise Aniamaka, as he jumped 15.89 meters. He moved up to No. 6 on Purdue's all-time list in the event. Additionally, Vanos won the weight throw with the sixth-best mark in school history and Jessica Bray registered the No. 3-ranked pole vault clearance all-time. Tyler Bowling and Andrew Brandt ran the eighth and 10th-fastest 5,000-meter races, respectively, and Rieko Wilford tied for No. 10 in the record books in the triple jump.
