Pro Boilers: Week 16

The NFL regular season is coming to a close and Boilermaker alumni are making an impact and pushing for the playoffs all across the league as 10 former Boiler football greats saw action in week 16.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –  The NFL regular season is coming to a close and Boilermaker alumni are making an impact and pushing for the playoffs all across the league as 10 former Boiler football greats saw action in week 16.

Markus Bailey – LB - Cincinnati Bengals
Made a tackle on the special teams unit as he contributed on 17 snaps to help the Bengals to a 22-18 victory over the Patriots.

Bailey is pictured here with Ja'Whaun Bentley after the game.

Derrick Barnes – LB – Detroit Lions
Returned from injury to log three tackles on 25 snaps as the Lions took a tough loss to the Panthers.

Ja'Whaun Bentley – LB - New England Patriots
Had season highs in tackles (12) and snap percentage (100%) on a busy day for a Patriots' defense that held Cincinnati's dynamic offense to 22 points while picking off Joe Burrow twice in a losing effort.

Broke this play down in this week's film review of #Patriots-#Bengals. But another Pats defender playing great ball is LB Ja'Whaun Bentley.

Pats bracket Chase and Higgins here, so Burrow works to a one-on-one with Mixon running a double move on Bentley, who smothers it. https://t.co/vnsHw4LwW5 pic.twitter.com/BXyMWtLxkU

David Bell – WR – Cleveland Browns
Made one catch for 18 yards on a tough day for the offenses in Cleveland, where the wind-chill temperatures dropped into the negatives. It was the coldest game in Saints franchise history.

Brycen Hopkins - TE - Los Angeles Rams
Hopkins put up his best numbers of the season, hauling in three catches for 57 yards in the Rams' blowout win over the Broncos.

Zander Horvath – FB - Los Angeles Chargers
Played 12 snaps on offense and special teams as the Chargers beat the Colts 20-3 to clinch a playoff berth.

George Karlaftis – DE- Kansas City Chiefs
Nabbed his fourth sack in the last five games while adding a pass defended as the Chiefs took a 24-10 win over the Seahawks.

Good to see George Karlaftis starting to turn pressures/sacks into 'quality pressures/sacks' and starting to win quicker in the snap. Quick club w/ ins rip gets him the corner early.

Can't ever sleep on the Water Polo background later in downs either. pic.twitter.com/b4ywmC8xg0

Dennis Kelly – OT – Indianapolis Colts
Played one snap in a tough loss to the Chargers.

DaMarcus Mitchell – DE - New England Patriots
Got in on 22 special teams snaps for the Patriots in their loss to the Bengals on Christmas Eve.

Raheem Mostert – RB - Miami Dolphins
Rushed eight times for 45 yards and caught two passes, but really made his mark in the return game as he totaled 114 yards.

Mostert up the middle for a big gain!
