ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Postseason competition begins as the Purdue cross country team travels to the 2022 Big Ten Cross Country Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Friday, October 28.
The championship begins with the women's 6k at 10:45 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 8k event at 11:45 a.m.

Eleven men and nine women will represent the Boilermakers as they race for team and individual conference titles at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
A LOOK BACK AT THE 2021 BIG TEN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
At the 2021 Big Ten Cross Country Championships, the Purdue men placed seventh and the women were ninth on a rainy morning at Penn State. Then-senior Curt Eckstein led the men with a 26th-place individual finish on the 5.2-mile course, and then-junior Emma Tate paced the women in 33rd place in the 6k event. The Boilermaker men were seventh overall with 173 points, and the women were ninth with 235 points.

PURDUE AT THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Purdue men have won two Big Ten titles, in 1916 and 1941. The Boilermakers recorded four consecutive top-five finishes from 2017-2020, coming in fifth in 2017, second in 2018, fourth in 2019 and third in 2020. The 2017 race marked the first time Purdue finished better than sixth since 1986.
The Boilermaker women's best Big Ten finish was second place in 1983, and Purdue also was third in 1981, its first Big Ten Championship.
Five men have won Big Ten titles, most recently by Matt McClintock in 2015. He set a Big Ten record in the 8k race with a time of 23:12.1.

Four Boilermakers raced at the final meet of the regular season at the Illini Open in Urbana, Illinois, on October 21. Freshman Christel Elkins earned the Boilermakers' top finish on the 5k course.
