SERIES HISTORY VS. INDIANA
Purdue is 16-4-6 all-time against Indiana and 5-2-3 in Bloomington. With the Golden Boot Trophy on the line every year since the inaugural matchup in 1999, the Boilermakers have retained the trophy each of the last seven years, the longest streak behind Purdue's 15-game unbeaten string  from 2000-2011. IU held a three-game win streak from 2012-14, the only time it had possession of the trophy besides 1999. Along with regular-season matchups every year, the in-state rivals also met in the postseason in 2002, 2003 and 2007, where Purdue is 2-0-1.

The Boilermakers' current seven-game unbeaten streak includes a 2-0-1 mark in Bloomington, with a 2-1 win in the team's last trip south in 2019. The two sides played to a 0-0, double-overtime draw in the 2020-21 season in West Lafayette before Purdue posted a 2-0 home win in the regular-season finale in 2021.

On a rainy afternoon at Folk Field on October 24, 2021, seniors Ally Mussallem and Sarah Griffith each scored a goal and notched an assist to lead Purdue in their final career regular-season games. Mussallem scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute and Griffith added the insurance goal in the 80th, as they each assisted on the other's goal. Then-sophomore Emily Mathews had the primary helper on both goals. IU had 14 shots to Purdue's 13, but the defense allowed just three of the visitor's shots to go on target, while the home side delivered seven shots on goal.
