In a game that was pushed back a day due to the snow storm that swept through the area, Purdue Women's Basketball got behind early in an 80-67 loss to Northwestern Friday evening at Mackey Arena. Purdue still battled throughout the contest, scoring a season-high 29 points output in the fourth quarter. Despite the late effort, Northwestern maintained control of the game. A big difference in the contest proved to be on the glass, as the Wildcats held a 41-27 rebounding advantage and produced 16 offensive boards that led to a 14-2 cushion in second chance points.Abbey Ellis scored 15 points to pace Purdue, while  Madison Layden and Jayla Smith reached double figures with 10 apiece. The duo of Layden and Smith combined for 18 points in the fourth quarter. Rickie Woltman added seven points and matched Jeanae Terry with a team-high eight rebounds.

• Purdue holds a 55-37 advantage in the rivalry series.
Katie Gearlds was 7-1 against Indiana during her playing career as a Boilermaker.
• Freshman Jayla Smith has reached double figures in back-to-back games, scoring a career-high 16 points at Nebraska before tallying 10 against Northwestern.
• Purdue's presence around the arc on the defensive end of the floor is one of the best in the Big Ten. Purdue is allowing opposing teams just a 27.4-percent success rate (107-of-391) from deep range.
Jeanae Terry is one of three players in the nation to have accumulated more than 120 (124) assists and 120 (134) rebounds.
• Madison Layden is one of four players in the nation with more than 50 triples (50), 50 assists (58) and 35 steals (36).
Brooke Moore has hit double figures 11 times off the bench this season.
