WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The No. 6 seeded Purdue volleyball team begins its 23rd NCAA championship journey today, hosting the first and second rounds in Holloway Gymnasium. Joining Purdue in West Lafayette is Illinois State, Marquette and Dayton.

While the NCAA first and second rounds will be played December 2-4, the West Lafayette site will play its first round matches today, followed by the second round tomorrow. Competition will begin with Marquette vs. Dayton at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by Purdue and Illinois State at 7 pm ET. All first and second round matches will be available on ESPN+ for streaming.

While tickets are sold out for the first round, limited tickets remain for tomorrow's second round match, which will start at 5 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE.

PURDUE IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
  • The Boilermakers have earned an NCAA tournament bid for six straight years.
  • Dave Shondell's has led Purdue to the tournament 16 times in his 19 years of coaching.

  • Meanwhile, Purdue has out-blocked opponents by 1.36 blocks per set this season, the largest margin for the program in 17 years.
  • The Boilermakers are averaging 15.36 digs per st this season, a mark only reached four times in the program's last 17 seasons.
  • During non-conference play, Purdue held opponents to .180 attack % while out-blocking teams 2.70 - 1.32 per set.

  • For the second straight season, Purdue set a program record in Big Ten postseason awards, earning six honors (previous: five, 2020): Coach of the Year, three first team honorees, one second team and an All-Freshman honoree.

  • Under Shondell's guidance, Purdue's highest Big Ten finish was a tie for second-place in 2011 (29-5, 16-4 B1G).
  • The Boilermakers third-place finish is the second time since 2007 Purdue has finished so high (finished fifth in three of the last four seasons).
