BONITA BAY, Fla. – The Purdue women's tennis team wrapped up the FGCU Collegiate Open over the last two days at the Bonita Bay Club with a pair of hidden duals against Notre Dame and Colorado. Had traditional dual scoring been in play, the Boilermakers would have come out on top in both contests.

The Boilermakers won eight of 13 contested singles matches and five of six doubles battles.

Against Notre Dame, Purdue took the double session with a pair of wins. Csilla Fodor and Camren Gallardo Guevara topped Julia Andreach and Meghan Coleman through a tiebreaker 7-6(4). Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Rut Galindo ousted Carrie Beckman and Nibedita Ghosh in the second spot, 6-4.

The underclassmen came up big in the singles session against the Fighting Irish. Gallardo Guevara beat Ghosh handily at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. Tara Milic beat Yashna Yellayi at No. 3 in a 6-4, 7-5 decision. Juana Larranaga made quick work of Meghan Coleman in the second set to win 7-6(5), 6-0. Galindo added the fourth singles win with a three set 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 line against Maeve Koscielski.

Facing off against Colorado, the Boilermakers claimed two doubles matches and a trio of singles tilts.

Fodor bested Caroline Pozo in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 at the top of the order in singles. Gallardo Guevara cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 against Sophia Derivan. Tara Milic topped Antonia Balzert in a super tiebreaker at No. 3 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-8.

In doubles action, Purdue swept all three contests. Fodor and Gallardo Guevara held off Pozo and Balzert in a 6-4 decision. Wolf Gasparin and Galindo beat Ky Ecton and Mila Stanojevic 6-3, and Larranaga and Milic held off Ellen Puzak and Derivan in a 6-4 win.

The Boilermakers concluded their fall slate this weekend. Head coach Laura Glitz will take this roster into the 2022 dual campaign, starting in January. A complete spring schedule will be announced through PurdueSports.com in the coming months.
