The Boilermakers are 8-2-2 on the season and 3-1-0 in the Big Ten. Despite its six-match win streak being snapped on Thursday, Purdue remains off to its best start to a season since 2007 and is one of two teams with three wins and nine points to top the conference standings after four matches. The squad is coming off a 2-1 defeat at home to No. 17 Michigan.

Seventeen players have earned at least a point and 15 have at least one assist, both the most in the Big Ten. Ten Boilermakers have scored a goal, tied for third-most in the conference. Purdue boasts a 23-11 advantage in goal differential, including 15-5 in the second half.

Purdue is second in the Big Ten with 23 goals, 71 points, 5.00 saves per game and a .845 save percentage and third with 25 assists.

Individually, senior forward Sarah Griffith is No. 15 nationally with eight goals and No. 22 in the country with 4.36 shots per game. She is second in the conference with 17 points and 2.09 shots on goal per game. Senior goalkeeper Marisa Bova is No. 7 in the NCAA with 1127:43 minutes played, and she also leads the Big Ten with 59 saves and is No. 2 with 4.92 saves per game and a .843 save percentage.

Additionally, sophomore midfielder Emily Mathews is sixth in the league with two game-winning goals, and she is second on the team with 11 points. Freshman forward Gracie Dunaway has a team-best four assists.

Bova's 16 career shutouts is No. 3 in team history, her 22 wins and 4557 minutes played both are No. 4, and her 176 saves and 48 starts are fifth-most. In 2021, Bova has eight victories, tied for No. 10 on the single-season list. Griffith's 18 career goals is ninth-most all-time, and her eight goals this season is one shy of cracking the top-10 for most goals in a season.

The Badgers are 7-2-3 and 2-1-1 in the Big Ten, and they are one of six teams tied for third in the conference standings with seven points. In the national rankings, UW is No. 18 in both the United Soccer Coaches poll and the Soccer America top-25.

LAST TIME OUT: WIN STREAK SNAPPED
Purdue's six-match win streak was snapped with a 2-1 loss to No. 17 Michigan on Thursday night at Folk Field. The defeat is just the second of the season for the Boilermakers and the first in Big Ten play as they played their second top-20 opponent of the season.

All three goals were scored in a 10-minute span in the first half. Michigan took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute, but Griffith answered right back with a goal just 30 seconds later to even the score at 1-1. UM scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 32nd minute to regain a 2-1 advantage. Senior midfielder Grace Walsh assisted on Griffith's score, her second of the season and third of her career.

Purdue was out-shot 20-6, and Michigan had a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Bova made five saves, and UM's keeper stopped two shots. Griffith and Mathews each had two shots, and Griffith had two of the Boilermakers' shots on goal.
