WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue cross country team competed at its third meet of the season on Friday morning at the Joe Piane – Notre Dame Invitational at the Burke Golf Course in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Senior Curt Eckstein led the way for the men, while freshman Emma Squires was the top women's finisher for the Boilermakers. As a team, the men placed 13th in the blue division 5 mile race, and the women were 18th in the blue division 5k event.
"I am excited for the progress our women are making, it was a good hit for the group," Purdue coach John Oliver said. "The men are making strong progress. We had some guys get after it in the middle, and that hurt them today, but we love the mindset. That mindset is what we continue to build on."
