WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team opens its 2021-22 campaign this weekend at the Schwartz Tennis Center with the Purdue Invite. The Boilermakers will compete in a set of round-robin hidden duals against Louisville, Butler and Miami University.
A full schedule of events is listed below. Spectators are allowed at the Schwartz Tennis Center this season and masks are required.
Head coach Laura Glitz enters the season with one of the most talented rosters in recent memory.
Csilla Fodor is back after narrowly missing an All-Big Ten nod last season and an impressive summer campaign. Fellow returners include lineup mainstays from last season Nathalia Wolf Gasparin, Seira Shimizu and Rut Galindo.
The Boilermakers were bolstered by the addition of four newcomers. Jamilah Snells, a five-star and blue-chip recruit from Tennis Recruiting Network, teamed up with Fodor to win doubles at the ITA Summer Circuit at Northwestern in June. She also took runner-up honors at the Antalya W15 in Turkey.
A trio of international Boilermakers will look to make their collegiate debuts this weekend with Carmen Gallardo Guevara from Spain, Juana Larranaga from Argentina and Tara Milic from Slovenia.
A recap of results will be posted to PurdueSports.com after each day.
