EUGENE, Ore. – Junior Tamar Greene finished 13th in the triple jump on Friday evening as the Purdue track & field team concluded competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Greene placed 13th overall with a jump of 15.85 meters, which came on his second attempt. It would be the seventh-best triple jump mark in program history, but Greene already holds the No. 5 spot.
With today's performance, Greene will earn Second Team All-America honors. He entered the meet seeded No. 24 in the event before the 13th-place jump.
A native of Nassau, The Bahamas, Greene competed at his fifth NCAA meet, third NCAA Championships and second outdoor championships. He improved on a 19th-place finish in the triple jump in 2019, and the All-America accolade is Greene's second in 2021, after he placed seventh in the indoor triple jump in March.
Along with Greene, sophomore Isaiah Martin also collected Second Team All-America accolades, as he finished 10th in the decathlon on Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally for the Boilermakers this week, the men's 4x100 relay placed 19th, the women's 4x400 relay was 20th and senior Samson Colebrooke finished 22nd in the 200-meter dash, as all earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades. The 4x100 featured Greene, Colebrooke, sophomore Justin Becker and freshman Marcellus Moore and the 4x400 was run by freshmen K'Ja Talley and Cierra Williams, senior Samara Miller and freshman Saran Kouyeth.
